“Give blood for those who give life. Safe blood for saving mothers".
It is such a wonderful feeling being able to help save human lives. There are no perfect substitutes for human blood. The blood you donate is divided into various components according to the needs of patients. Every day, about 800 women die from pregnancy or childbirth-related complications. Severe bleeding during delivery and after childbirth is a major cause of mortality, morbidity and long-term disability. National Blood Bank Services Office is the nonprofit governmental organization. In October 22, 2014 – 87,000 units of blood are donated for transfusion in Ethiopia, although the country needs 200,000 units of blood annually, the National Blood Bank of Ethiopia disclosed. Owing to this Women’s Health Association of Ethiopia is organizing a blood campaign day in our General Assembly meeting day, in February 27, 2016 in Monarch Hotel, Addis Ababa Ethiopia. Each component can be used by different recipients for various purposes. Many new born babies may benefit from a single blood donor as their blood requirements are smaller. Every time you donate blood, you can help up to three or four individual recipients.
